Catch-up pics from our trip to Angahuan

yup, we summited that bad boy!

the volcano of doom looms closer

Evan riding 'ol Julieta there into the ground!

We were fortunate enough to snap a quick shot of the loan ranger on the horizon

20 minutes into the ride and this gringo bum was already toast!

setting out on our 8-hour road trip to find the lost city of San Juan and the Volcan de paricutin! I'm pretty sure i know EXACTLY how Indiana Jones felt in those movies

Visiting the famous "National park" in the state of Michoacan

Paracho, Mexico--home of the guitar!

This tiny building behind me is where the 20 or so members of the local branch meet. Up until recently the members of the church in this pueblo have been violently abused for their beliefs

A classy example of how cool Mexican taxis are. I wanted to ride in this thing so bad

Puerto Vallarta

Evan's Mexican girlfriend...pretty sketch if you ask me. (What happens in Vallarta,
stays in vallarta)

a classy bench on the Malecon--looks like something Adam would do

I don't even know what to say or think about this picture...

hanging out on the Malecon (boardwalk) with hermano & hermana Torrez

We make missionary work look good

just waiting for a shark to come bite our legs off

surfing at Punta de Mita! 3 hours of a whole lot of swimming only equaled catching two waves...surfing is harder than it looks

Late-night tacos with the Narvaez family. They let us stay with them all five days we were in Vallarta and invited us to do everything with them

The beach was definitely not ready for this much "gringo" whiteness

Old Grandpa Williams goes out for a pass

My first experience at the beach! and yes, that is an alien space craft zooming above my head as I dive for cover to save my life....that junk happens in Mexico
Work is over and its time to Play!!! we started progress on our first tan of the season :)
Our workshop group in Vallarta--more than 30 people! we were told there would be 22, and we only took enough material for 22...oops! Lucky for us this room had air conditioning. The humidity outside was unbearable
Leaving the Guadalajara bus station at 2am to start our five-day adventure in Puerto vallarta! in case you haven't noticed, Evan and I seem to ALWAYS be wearing the same clothes when we set out on adventures....

It is really common for people to get on the bus here in Mexico and then stand at the front to sell something like candy, Catholic Prayer books, etc. Last Wednesday on our way home at 9 30pm these two young kids got on the bus--I knew we were in for a treat when I saw them getting on. They immediately started acted out a love/comedy skit. I thought it was so clever that I gave them 3 pesos. Thats the first time I have paid someone money on the bus!

Two-day trip to Angahuan & Paricutin

This was the indigenous home we visited for one of our projects. Every day this lady spends about 2 hours making tortillas by hand for her family to eat.

In this small town everyone makes their living by making bricks out of dirt and horse poop. The bricks are stacked to create an oven.

It takes about 20 hours for the brick oven to cook itself from the inside out

It's hard to see, but this is a little cabinet in the catholic church that has LED candles. There is a slot on the side where you can insert pesos. depending on my many pesos you insert, a certain number of candles light up to honor whatever you are praying for.

Huge door to the church!

We stopped on the side of the road to buy some awesome sombreros. No one was around to take our money, so we just tried them on, took pictures, and
